NOTD // Hawaii Hangz

Aloha! Although the new Hawaii collection from OPI for Spring/Summer 2015 is very much bright and tropical, there are a few shades peppered through that are very much appropriate for the Autumn weather we're experiencing down under (it's finally starting to cool down a little, at least here in Brisbane!)! I was sent a couple of shades that could definitely be sported all year round.

Lost my Bikini in Molokini*
Always OPI with those snazzy names. I feel like they're getting longer and longer each time! From swatches I'd seen online, I had the impression that this was quite a bright purple. In the bottle it appears deeper and more dusky, but I must say, it does come to life a bit in the sunshine! It's not a particularly unique shade, but one that I was actually lacking in my collection. It's pretty much straight up purple, if anything, a little more blue-leaning and like I said, it does have that slight dusty element to it! Like pretty much all OPI polishes I've tried, it went on smoothly and opaquely in two coats. I had slight chipping after around 5 days, but lasted well through the week. I've started using my new Mary Kay Base Coat/Top Coat* and I'm loving it! Leaves a glassy smooth shine, and all my manis have been lasting extremely well!

Do You Take Lei Away?*
Nudes are few and far in my collection, I can't say I've ever been drawn to them, being an avid lover of bright and colourful shades! Do You Take Lei Away?* has pleasantly surprised me though! It's a pale bone shade, with slight beige-y pink tones. Hard to describe but oh so lovely, classy and downright chic. I was scarred it would be too pale or clash with my skintone, but it's actually quite complementary. I must say, I've been quite enjoying these paler nail shades lately! This one went on well, slightly streaky on first coat, but was opaque with a second and self-leveled to perfection! Again with the Mary Kay topcoat, this one lasted well into the week, barely any chipping or tipwear come take off time (7 days). Very impressed!

These two creamy colours will become staples in my collection, no doubt! With lovely formulas, OPI has done it again!

Any shades from the Hawaii collection catch your eye?
